OMFG, I'm listening to Alexander Haig insisting that Rumsfilled
is just now learning, and so there is nothing to see here ... just move along. There is otherwise no reason to question Rumsfilled's reasons for planning this war the magnificent way that he did. :eyes:

Oh my fucking g-d damned Christ. You have GOT to be kidding me.:eyes:

It's on Scarbough Country. I know .. I usually change the channel as soon as I hear his shrill and whiney voice. I fucked up.

1. Perhaps someone should point out...
...that Rummy has DECADES of experience lying for right wing extremists and coddling dictatorial regimes. Heck, has Rummy washed his hand yet? Or does he still hold it up to his nose, breathe deeply and mutter, "Oh, oh my Saddam..."

2. Boy, they're getting out the retreads

George Shultz on Charlie Rose last night was utterly ridiculous, a blathering old man just laying out his buddies' line with no evident critical thinking of any kind going on.

It is just a little amusing, is it not, that the old fellows who lost Vietnam are now arguing that Iraq is a victory too if we just wait, pour in more money, decrease troop levels by adding a lot of them, and organize/arm up the government we install. This Second Coming of Nixon that is parading before us is a really eerie nightmare.

3. George Shultz is enjoying his Betchel profits
He has no desire to criticize the invasion of Iraq; it's financing his retirement.

9. They have even trotted out Jeanne Kirkpatrick
Ronny Reagan's foreign policy advisor and his ambassador to the UN. Didn't stick around long enough to hear what the old bat had to say. Just noticed she is looking & sounding ancient.

11. I miss Haig
A classic moment in American politics was Haig running around announcing "I'm in charge!"

after hearing Alexander "I'm in charge now" Haig say something so absolutely disgusting.

He's just another scumbag Constitution-hating shrill for the like minded crooks in the White House. Fuck 'em all.

Haig is a dyed-in-the-wool conservative Cold Warrior. Why would he think anything else?

12. Haig should figure out he is a murderous idiot
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 12:27 PM by StandWatie
His lasting legacy is his greenlighting of the Lebanese invasion when he met with with Sharon as the defense minister for the Begin government. There is already a seat in hell waiting for him for that, maybe he thinks there is nothing left to lose in cheering on carnage all over the planet.
