2. this topic deserves better than the lounge....
Johnny was a singular talent. I'm decidedly NOT a country music fan, but I adore Johnny Cash. I posted elsewhere the following advice: if you do NOT own his American Recordings series, go out and buy them NOW! I prefer the first one over the other two, but they're all amazing. The last one has his cover of "hurt" by Nine Inch Nails. Johnny was so much more than a country artist.

And did any man adore his wife more than he? The day June died, I told my partner that Johnny would die within 3 months. I think it took two months.

Godspeed, Johnny. You were one of the best.

5. wow I didnt realize 'Hurt" was Johnny Cash.
Social Distortion also did a cover of "Ring of Fire" (as did punk/new wave band Wall of Voodoo now that i think of it) that I loved...

6. Yes, he died of a broken heart.
RIP, Man In Black

'Will the circle be unbroken
in the sky, Lord, in the sky'

'Some bright morning,
when this life is over
I'll fly away.'

He was a great man, on many levels, and he and June together were more than the simple sum of their prodigious talents. We won't see their like again soon.

7. Not unexpected but sad
I assumed he would not last another year once June died.

But it's hard to imagine someone who lived a bigger life.

8. RIP John.
I was saddened by the news, but like so many others, I didn't expect him to outlive June by much either. I hope someone writes a really good book on their lives -they were extraordinary in so many ways.

10. Truly a great talent
A tour de force

I was amazed to see some of the covers he did on his final album. Good for Johnny! There was a life.
