1. a little difference between Pearl Harbor and 9/11

At Pearl Harbor, the world's 3rd largest navy attacked us, smashed our battle line, and left our entire west coast wide open...they then proceeded to capture Wake, Guam, Phillipines, Hong Kong, Malaya, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and most of Burma, while we and our allies could do nothing because we had nothing to do it with.

At 9/11, a group of men launched a desperation attack, killing 3000. Our infrastructure and military were intact. There was no threat of invasion. No continues stream of bad news from our frontiers. And no further threat until they can set up another desperation attack.

The only thing similar between 9/11 and December 7 is the number of dead.

2. We have murdered 5-7 innocent civilians for each WTC victim on 9/11

I will never look at the 9/11 memorials in the same way as I did back in 2001, not when America has slaughtered 5-7 innocent civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq for each WTC victim on 9/11.

And the Iraq bodycount goes on!

To put this in American terms, what we have done with 9/11 is the moral equivalent of having a person slaughter every man, woman, and child in an entire city as revenge for the murder of a neighbor.

I'm sorry. I normally try to avoid all caps and exclamation points. But criminy.

I wrote a short story soon after 9/11/01 about America 60 years on, and I ended up having to cut this line because it was too two-by-four-whackingish, but it does sum up how I feel about the 9/11 hoopla:

I remember the Eleventh. My sin is that I have not forgotten everything else.

Morons. No, Dick, we remember 9/11. We remember it a lot better than your cronies in DC want us to.
