8 Iraqi Policemen killed/Wounded by Our Troops/ Mistaken for Terrorists.
I thought someone would have posted this by now.....it was on MSNBC very early and BBC reported it on NBP this morning extensively. I don't have the link....sorry.

It seems that the Iraqi Policement in marked blue and white cars identifying them as police were chasing a bandit or someone trying to speed through a "US checkpoint" and our soldiers shot them all either they are all dead or some were wounded......The BBC was reporting that maybe our soldiers were trigger happy because they had been told to "use all means necessary to confront anything seen as possible suspicious or terrorist activity." The BBC reporter was questioning if it's the US policy (Rummy) which needs to be changed so that these "friendly fire incidents don't occur."

Anyway that's really bad news if we are killing Iraqi policement. Since I havent' seen a post here....did they cover the story up? Or, maybe I just missed the post and it's onto archives already.

Thought it was important.

2. My dh said the WP said it was 14 Iraqi police.
But who knows now, and why should anyone care since they were just Iraqis (facetious smiley goes here).

I wonder how many Iraqi police trainees will sign up today?

4. To me this is the story of the day...
Unfortunately, the death of John Ritter is all over the cable news channels non stop. I was saddened to hear of John's death, but this story could begin a real debate on how this occupation has gone so terribly and deadly wrong. The Iraqi civilians that join the police force are already at major risk, as they have been targeted by Iraqi nationalists and the misguided bullets of the trigger happy American troops. How in the name of anything holy can these stories keep being shoved down in the category of a thirty second "oh, by the way, mention" on the news networks, while it is paramount that we all get updated on the postponment of Jo Ho and Ben Afflicted's wedding. Unbelievable.
