During that time, all the hidebound, cigar chomping old farts trying to push the country toward feudalism were Democrats.

I think the proper question would be whether or not this country would be better off without the super rich, and the answer is an emphatic and unqualified YES.

Oh, we wouldn't be able to go on tour at Newport and laugh at the way they dismantled rooms in European castles and reassembled them here in an attempt to impress the former owners and Gates wouldn't have a mansion so huge I'm sure he hasn't visited all the rooms yet, but we'd have a large and stable middle class and a population that had health insurance, guaranteed pensions, child care, and all the other things our brethren all over the world take for granted.

It's the super rich and all the people they manage to scare and propagandize into voting against their own economic self interest who are the problem, not one party or the other. Both parties have been hijacked by rich scum in our history.
