NBC News: Hunt for WMDs
Edited on Fri Sep-12-03 06:09 PM by Cush
An Iraqi Scientist said that hidden SCUDs were blown up before the war, UAVs were not meant to be used as weapons, Saddam would restart his nuke program if sactions were lifted.

Oh, they are now searching a reservoir because they think barrels are under there.

Underwater? Wouldn't they um, rust and corrode??

2. Did anyone else hear?
Am I the only person who heard Condaleeza Rice say, on the Today Show, that the WMD were in Saddam's mind and by removing Saddam from power we have removed Iraq's weapons of mass destruction? I could swear that's what I heard but I haven't seen this quoted anywhere. I thought she was bringing virtual reality to a new level.

3. Well, if that's true...
then Bush et al. themselves should view this war as a COMPLETE failure, since they have not eliminated SH.

8. She did say something like that..
....she was basically saying "Well he WANTED to make WMD's" or "he was PLANNING on making WMD's".

"Well yeah Condaleeza - there's a LOT of people who WANT WMD's but does that mean we should go to their counties, kill thousands of people and decimate their countrysides?"

7. They best the right can get is that we keep looking for WMDs
As long as we keep looking for WMDs then they don't have to face up to their lies.

But the arguments are getting less and less creditable, yet know one calls them on it. It is as if we all know Bush lied about WMDs yet it is worse to admit the truth then it is to continue the lie.

9. This is from a paper in Kansas..no WMDs seen but he believes his president
From the Manhattan Mercury (Manhattan, KS)

(but you have to register. It really is not worth registering. The important part of the blurb is below).

What they found when they searched Iraq for WMDs
By Leah Fliter

"It was probably the most incredible experience in my military career so far," said Col Rich McPhee of his recent tour of duty in Iraq.
McPhee, now chief of staff at Fort Riley, talked about his war-time experiences at a Wednesday meeting of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce's military relations committee.
An artillery commander, McPhee led the 75th Exploitation Task Force, a multi-disciplinary, international team of intelligence and weapons experts who were searching for the "weapons of mass destruction (WMDs)."
The team found "intelligence sites", mass graves, and lots of antiquities, but no WMDs.
"I don't know if there are WMDs," after searching for several months, "but I believe our President ... and I believe we stopped a program," McPhee said.
The team included American and British military experts and representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Defense Intelligence Agency, as well as embedded media.

I cannot believe this people. What is that they say? "Do you want to believe me or your lying eyes?" He did not find anything but he believes his president!

11. One very logical question.
If SH had WMD, why didn't he use them? No one can answer this question with any rationality.
