Did anybody catch the NY Post swipe at Clark today?
Flailing away at the Clark candidacy, one of its reporters wrote that the general has a reputation for being "an eccentric."

What the HELL are they talking about?

>>Clark, who could announce as soon as next week, has a reputation as an eccentric, and once claimed the White House tried to keep him off CNN without providing any proof. He's been shy about even acknowledging he's a Democrat.<<

The right wing is cranking it up, aren't they?

1. He terrifies them because ...
they know how hard he would be to beat and just how determined he would be to reverse their reign of terror.

3. How do they have the gall?
George Bush's driving, drinking and drug capers were off-limits and irrelevant but they can hurl around unsubstantiated rumors?

The reporter didn't even mention any basis for his observation, nor did he name his supposed sources.

4. Murdoch's Post Story Will Now Be Followed by Murdoch's Fox "News"
A Murdoch Fox Anchor will now say, "Fox has learned that a newspaper report just out about General Clark..."

5. Missed it
But thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I especially liked this part:

"'I don't think this fellow can decide. One day, he's a Democrat, and the next day shoot to the top - or even to the middle - of the Democratic presidential pack,' said University of Virginia political science Professor Larry Sabato"

10. Well, if it's any consolation...
They buried this story pretty much the same way they ran six inches on Kerry's announcement smothered under 20 inches on Hillary speaking at an engagement in Brooklyn.

8. Eccentric? He probably was to some at the Pentagon
Hummm a liberal General, yup eccentric. He probably sat around and read books about philosophy and listened to classical music. Yes, that would be considered eccentric in some circles.

9. the post was particularly vile today
i would never actually pay for it but look at copies in the coffee shop which is a mistake, because i just get indigestion. but their "editorial" going after the PBS 9/11 docu by ric burns. oh my god! you'd think they were looking at the showtime movie the way this guy went on

http://www.nypost.com/postopinion/opedcolumnists/5559.htm

the cover with a picture of arafat with "time to go" as the headline. (i was hoping they were talking about Dubya)

attacking one of my favorite ny politicians, Gifford Miller, for his attepmt at some gun control for NYC. the argument? it can't be done so why bother?

here's a quote:

...the council's Committee on Public Safety will undertake to make New York City free of illegal guns. And wouldn't that be nice. If it was possible - which, of course, it isn't.

i mean by that logic, stopping people from smoking weed is impossible, so, why bother?

last but not least: the french

"Was it really true - France doing the right thing when it comes to the war on terrorism? As if."

as if? as if?

well, now that i know the editorials at the post are being written by cher from "clueless"
