3. I have long been impressed by |

him and this issue sealed it for me. They are human rights and it is about time someone other than us little people say it out loud and get in the RW faces about it.

6. Could we start with Governor? |
|
He might be just what we need to take on the Groping Austrian Beefcake, with a touch of celebrity to boot. Plus, that'd open up The City for someone more progressive on local issues (homelessness, development of city property, etc.)

7. I watched the interview & was impressed in a big way |
|
He is absolutely right to challenge the seperate but unequal way that the law deals with GLBTs. We desperately need people of principle, integrity, & courage to represent our Democratic values.

8. Gavin's another opportunistic politician... |
|
...who needed to reinvent himself as a civil rights hero after walking into office on the backs of homeless San Franciscans.
What about the human rights of all the disabled and senior homeless folks he displaced from homeless shelters so the city could reimburse itself for placing single adults on welfare in shelters and deduct rent from their meager welfare checks with his lamebrained "care not cash?"
What about the human rights of all the Iraqi war dead who won't be honored at tomorrow's anti-war rally after Gavin decided to unearth some obscure protocol policy to resist a unanimous request from the county board of supes to lower the flags to half mast?
Gay marriage is just a dog-and-pony-show Gavin's working to his advantage. But I truly hope he does get elected to higher office--the sooner the better--so we can all see what little regard he has for the will of San Francisco's voters, a lá Dianne Feinstein. In fact, I'll bet he more in thrall to Getty's dough than DiFi is to Blum's.
If you need a poster child for what wrong with the Dems, I nominate Gavin.

A way to solve the homeless problem in SF, would be to put them all on a barge in the Bay?

Don't agree with him on every point at all. In fact, I campaigned hard against him.
But, he's been GREAT on civil rights. And, sure, he's so attractive and so well spoken and just independent enough, I'd walk for him in '08.

13. Sign me up for Newsom for President! |

I don't know hardly anything about him, but I know that he values humans equally, regardless of their sexuality.
For that in this day and age, he should get a medal!

16. To be fair, if he was running nationally his views could change. |
|
You're not really going out on a limb being a proponent of gay marriage as mayor of SF.

Where does he stand on the bankruptcy bill? Class action lawsuits? Medical malpractice? Fair trade?
