23. That's a thought
What did the recall propenets get? One million signitures? There's no doubt that more than one million will vote agianst the recall.Have someone organize a campaign for all the people who vote no on the recall sign the petition for the next recall.Hell just keep recalling the election till you get the result you want. That would be novel.Probabaly wouldn't work though,if by some chance a republican won, those anti-trial lawyer rebublicans would hire a gang of lawyers and go to their rubber stamp supreme court.Come to think of instead of having elections it would probabaly be cheaper to let each candidate hire a legal team, let them present their case to the supreme court and then let the super 9 elect our officals, for every elected position in the land.Talk about judicial backlog ,they would be pretty busy.At least we wouldn't have to suffer through all the republican lies in the campaign. The only ones they would have to lie to would be themselves and the Supremes.Voting would end as we know it,just what the republican party wants. The rich are the best and fuck the rest.

Let no freeper steal our election and not expect us to fight back. And this time real volunteers will be circulating the petitions, not paid ones. This will be a legitimate recall not a staged one.

if Arnold gets elected.

(or at least a cake in the shape of a shoe)

No, seriously, the recall is not going to pass. It has to do with racial politics. If it looks like Bustamante is ahead, alot of repubs are more comfortable with white Davis than Latino Bustamante, and will vote against the recall.

We can always count on our Repub friends to be morivated by the fears and prejudice they won't admit.

5. If ANYONE except Davis or Bustamanto gets elected
we must recall them. I just received my special election ballot in the mail and the grounds for the recall are absolutely ridiculous. PLEASE GOD...LET ME HAVE BEEN IN A THREE YEAR NIGHTMARE AND WAKE ME UP!!!

6. Here is what should be done:
Get enough Democrats to sign onto a list of automatic recall. Then go on the air and start advertising that if the recall goes through the Democrats signed up will do endless recalls until 2006 if Davis is not reinstated as Governor. People well get the idea that this is only the first recall and it will go on indefinatly at taxpayers expense. People will vote it down to stop the endless recalls that will happen if they don't. Fight dirty back!

8. Ohhhhhh...
I think that would be a great move... organize beforehand, or at least allow a leak about organizing get to the echo chamber we call mainstream media. That will drive them crazy!

9. Sign me up to man the tables --
I heard today that just days after Davis won in a real election the repukes started their recall -- they didn't' like the results of the election. They didn't give him a chance to even get his second term off the ground when they initiated their recall.

13. Sort of like "no tagbacks"?
I say start organizing as soon as the elections take place, and then wait six months for it. Remember that it took them four months or so to get this off the ground. And it will be about seven months from the beginnig of the movement to recall by the time the election actually happens.

14. Only applies to Davis in this case.
That provision only applies to the case in which Davis survives. Someone else could be immediately recalled.

15. of course we should....
and the good news, is the bar will be even lower for signature-gathering. It's a percentage of people who voted in the LAST Governor. The recall turnout will be much smaller than in the last statewide election.

We won't even have to spend our own $2,000,000. All the DU Californians could probably get it done.

25. No
Because two wrongs never did make a right, they make a mess. The solution is to ride this out then change the loopholes within the election code and the state Constitution and add specific criteria by which a Governor can be recalled.

Besides, would it not be poetic justice if Davis survived the recall? Oh, the ammunition we'll have for several years to come!
