His name is Mike Rogers. I just read about him in the current GQ. The article was written by Jake Tapper. Rogers is on a mission to out any and all Republicans who support anti-gay legislation and policies but are gay themselves. The article leads with his outing of former congressman Ed Schrock of Virginia. Schrock was a vocal co-sponsor of the federal marriage amendment and was anti gays in the military. (For the record he served 2 tours in Viet Nam).
I have always been hoping that perhaps Barney Frank would take the lead on this, but this is fine with me. Keep in mind that Rogers is only interested in outing those he finds to be hypocritical. (Should be no shortage of those!)
The article also said that Rogers has 2 prominent targets he is trying to out. Rep. David Dreier of CA and... Ken Mehlman!
Rogers' blog is www.blogactive.com.
Have any DUers heard of Rogers before? What do you think about his campaign?

1. If these folks are being condemned for being hypocrites, sure. |
|
If they're being condemned for being gay, that's not right.
A lot of people out there are not quite up to speed on nuance, so hope Rogers does everything he can to make sure the distinction is clear.

2. Oh, I was hoping it would be me |

Oh well.
I saw this article posted here the other day, and I think its a good idea. Why not expose their nauseating hypocrisy.
What do gay DUers think about it?

3. I'm a gay DUer and I'm all for it. |
|
I say out the hypocritical bastards. If I had the time and resources I would do it myself.

5. I'm for outing all hypocrites |
|
Not only Repuke gays who sponsor anti-gay legislation, but Repukes who tout 'family values' and cheat on their spouses, or 'pro-life' people who make sure that girlfriend gets the abortion, or the Repuke who says he's for 'supporting the troops' and cuts benefits for military families and disabled veterans.

Exposing all these hypocrites should be a goal not to be shied away from.

4. I'm generally against outing in daily life. |
|
first, the world's not a great place if you're gay; second, they'll come out when they're ready to come out and it's their business, not mine.
However, it's open season on hypocrites. Go Rogers!
