For any Democratic leadership here that may actually want to fight |
|
the Republicans on Schiavo:
You're going to need to establish two things- in the court of public opinion, of course.
First- reasonable doctors agree that Terri Schiavo has no higher-level brain function.
Second- Terri's husband is telling the truth when he says that Terri did not want to be kept in a condition such as this. He needs his credibility back if this is going to stand.
I'm seeing the Democrats dealing with this on TV, and they're shit. They don't know what they're doing. Getting sick of it.
Stop with the rest of the crap. Just go back to those two points, over and over.

1. Don't hold your breath... |
|
I'll gladly change my opinion if I see Democrats stand up to these republicans.

2. If any Democratic leadership wants to continue to make an issue out of |
|
the whole thing than please go public so I can be sure not to donate to any cause you are a part of.
Ignore this entire thing and focus on the protests today. Even talking about Schiavo is falling into republican plans.

8. Or, instead of helping, they could fight it. |

You're trying to ignore it to make it go away. It's way too late for that.
Get on your horse, man. :)

First, since this isn't a federal government issue, PERIOD. This belong in state courts and strictly a state issue. Opening up family laws to the federal government is asking for more intrusion into your private life.
Let the GOOPers hang themselves out to dry and look real out of touch with this one. This morning, I was shocked, I heard Daria Dolan on CNNServative say "Tom DeLay has no right determining the care of my dying parent..."...I fell off my chair!
Right now the Democratic party is the gang that can't shoot straight and needs to focus on stronger party discipline in fighting REAL issues, not manufactured ones.
