Daily U.S. Casualties 9/13/2003


As of Friday, 292 U.S. soldiers have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq, according to the Department of Defense.

The British military has reported 49 deaths. Denmark's military has reported one death.

On or since May 1, when President Bush declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 154 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, according to the latest Defense Department figures.

The latest casualties reported by the U.S. military:


Two U.S. soldiers died in a raid in Ramadi, Iraq, early Friday.
The latest identification reported by the military:


Army Sgt. Henry Ybarra III, 32; Austin, Texas, died Thursday in Balad, Iraq, when the truck tire he was changing exploded; assigned to D Troop, 6th Squadron, 6th Cavalry, Illesheim, Germany.
