3. Awesome!!!! Thanks for the heads-up! Very cool Kerry quote!! |
|
Kerry: Moses said, "Hitch up your camel, pick up your shovel, mount your ass, I will lead you to the promised land!" 5,000 years later, Roosevelt said "light up a Camel, lay down your shovel, sit on your ass, this is the promised land!" Today, George Bush will lay off your camel, tax your shovel, kick your ass and tell you there is no promised land!"

19. Maybe I'm dense, but I don't understand it. |
|
Is he talking about Teddy Roosevelt? If so, what does it mean?
If he's talking about FDR, then I understand it even less. It sounds like something right wingers would say about FDR's "welfare state." The social and jobs programs in the new deal weren't about people sitting on their asses and waiting for someone to provide for them.
Also, does he want bush to tax people LESS? Obviously I didn't hear the quote in context. Was he talking about how the tax cuts weren't for working people who are now paying more in property taxes?

He did a really good job. Dean just came on and his opening line to quiet the crowd, "This counts against my time", is really good too! Oh' snap... he just told them that NO Republican has balanced the budget... Borrow & spend, borrow & spend...I love it!
... finally we're refuting the ridiculous mischaracterizations from the neo-cons!
Thanks for the alert!!

22. Kerry had a good line about Clinton |
|
he said that Clinton will say more in his 20 min. -- if you believe he'll keep it to 20 min. -- than Bush has said in 2 1/2 years.
Every time I see Clinton speak, I think the same thing. Remember when we had a president that understood the words he was saying, that always had so much to say that he went overtime, rather than Bush, who has to stretch his words and repeat himself to fill up his time.

to ditch him as they had to in 2000?? They seem to have still ditched him in 2002. The repukes go bullshitted at the sight of him; but so what!!! Let them. They are scared to death of Clinton. So I say that they may not want to take Bill to the Southland but they have to let him go to the "blue states" and maybe even some borderline states. It's time to use him. In other words, they have let the repukes kick him; now it's time for Bill to refute them and push the Dem agenda.

listening to the C-Span guy interview the reporter from the Des Moines Register. The reporter said the news that he would write about most in his column is the fact that Clinton attacked the Supreme Court. Yes!!!
