Those people trying to keep Schiavo alive should strap themselves to a bed |
|
... for 24 hours and see what it's like. Have they ever thought that they may be torturing her by holding her in a condition she doesn't want to be in? Those people need to try being immobilized for 24 hours nonstop to see what she's actually going through. It's a form of imprisonment and they are only prolonging her imprisonment. Are they doing this for Terri Schiavo's sake or for their own sake?

1. The difference, of course, is that Schiavo CAN'T FEEL IT! |

3. OK, but how can anyone except her know what she is feeling or thinking? |

4. Make that 24 hours, 15 years and it'll be a better demonstration |
|
Nobody would want to remain in that state, ESPECIALLY the fundies.

6. Ask them to work in a nursing home for three months. |
|
They might learn something about how the common man is treated in the last stage of life - and maybe something about compassion along the way.
Since no bad stuff has ever happened to any of our congressmen, they need to go out and see it firsthand.

7. They'd have to wear a blind fold and ear plugs as well, since Terri's |

brain without a cerebral cortex can no longer process input.

I have been there and done that. And I have a daughter with Rett Syndrome who is bed/wheelchair bound. I do not want this to become a habit of letting people die this way. My daughter was starved for 5 days at camp. Almost died. It was considered no big deal because of the quality of life. I am getting really upset with both sides here.

9. I'm sorry your daughter has been through that. |
|
But does she have a flat EEG? That's the case iwth Ms. Schiavo - she doesn't have a higher brain, which is what makes us human. If your daughter still has awareness, there is no reason to remove life support.

10. She's not aware of anything. |
|
She doesn't know who she is, where she is, she can't form a thought in her head, because the place where people form thoughts and have awareness is gone in her.
