she thinks this is ultimately about the abortion issue. That this is one way the repukes are going to make abortion illegal - perhaps on the heels of any laws that pass in this case.

But, I totally agree with you. It seems a waste of tax dollars to me - no offense to the dead woman and her family.

She explained it better than I can, but it made sense. All life is sacred -- that whole argument. I'll ask her again since she watched the entire proceedings and heard all the rhetoric about the preciousness of just one life, blah, blah (I suppose there was a disclaimer issued against brown skinned people).
