Need info - Bush booed at American Legion post? |
|
I'm trying to find confirmation of a story someone posted on AOL that GWB was booed off the stage at an American Legion post because he refused to answer questions from any veterans except for those he "pre-selected" before his speech - kinda like that "press conference" before we invaded Iraq. Any leads on this story, if indeed it's true?

He spoke in Kansas City recently. I think it was to the American Legion, but I'm certain that he was not booed off the stage. You might want to check the Kansas City papers.

3. I'd like to know this also |
|
I'm a veteran, and I've always resisted becoming a member of the American Legion for its bluntly Rethuglican slant, (which, BTW, stems all the way through the American Legion's history - just read Bill Mauldin's Back Home. I have a couple of uncles who are Korean war vets who've (gently, to be fair) tried to entice me into joining.
More of this getting publicized would change my mind about the Legion - it's politics are based on a caucus system which means most members are only a number with which to threaten congressmen; which is my prime resistance to joining.
