I think Bill Clinton has suffered enough for his hummer |
|
I'm glad some the Dem candidates allowed themselves to be on the same podium with Bill Clinton, yesterday in Iowa. I think Clinton has suffered enough for his daliance with Monica and for his treatment from the beltway whores. I didn't think his speech yesterday was one of his greatest, but it did bring some clarity. I would like to see Dems hit hard on the tax cuts, especially who benifits the most from them. He brought up the SCOTUS awarding the election to Bush, and(if memory is right) the mess on Texas redistering foreshadowing a theme of repukes stealing elections they can't win. It would resonate with me and hopefully a lot more people. It is my hope that yesterday's appearance is but the first of many. I think he can bring alot to the Democratic Party. I, for one, still harbor hard feelings for Gore and his team for their treatment of Clinton in 2000. If I never hear a word for Gore it will be too soon.

and yet right wing loonies are still getting off on it!
Meanwhile Clinton's approval rating the day AFTER the House started trying to impeach him for the hummer were 20 points higher than rating for the unelected drunk staining the White House now.

to shun Clinton. He's a master campaigner and popular with the American people. Still, I will never forgive him for being so weak and stupid. he could've, should've, would've been a great President if only he'd kept his zipper zipped.

how so many are distracted by the Big Dog's penis. Dwight had a mistress. Poppy Bush had a mistress. JFK was simply studly! Many of those paragons of "virtue and morality" who pursued Clinton were involved in their own "situations," SO MUCH SO that it took Larry Flynt to call them out and force them to step down. Whatever extramarital activity Clinton engaged in is between him and his wife. Anybody ever notice, THEY are still married???

And expect to hear him talk about the tax cuts a LOT. He was talking about them giving him a tax break since last October when he gave a speech in Cleveland.

5. Clinton betrayed a lot of people in what he did. Including Gore. |
|
How a smart guy like Clinton, who knew the Repukes were after him, gave them ammunition like that is a total mystery. It certainly cost Gore the election. Gore served Clinton and this country well for eight years. It cost the rest of us: George Bush, dead and wounded soldiers, hundreds billions of debt, John Ashcroft, war with Iraq, and the rest of the world fearing us like the plague.

Clinton did not cost Gore the election. Gore got more votes than Clinton did in both his bids for the White House. Gore did not cost himself the election by campaigning poorly either, like some around here like to say. I am sick to death of the Gore bashing. The GOP and Team Smirk along with the SCOTUS stole the election, plain and simple.

Do not even begin to try to blame what's going on in the world today because Clinton got his dick sucked! Gore's flaccid campaigning cost him the election more than anything else.

"And now here's Bill again, at the worst possible time, providing current fodder for the Clinton-haters. I wish he'd stay out of it."
That's pure B.S. Clinton-haters are knuckle-dragging imbeciles. In the words of their Supreme Leader, Who cares what they think?
The rest of us are glad he's fighting for America and the Democratic Party. As Tom Harkin said, Bill Clinton continues to drive right-wingers crazy and that's one reason we love him so much. And guess what? Most of America, even the non-partisans, still loves him, too and wishes he was still President. Anyone with half a brain in their head knows he was a hundred times better than the White House squatter.

17. Knuckle-dragging imbeciles |
|
Maybe I just have a different perspective because my mother, who's not a knuckle-dragging imbecile, believes everything the right-wing propaganda machine poops out. I've read and listened to Rush, Hannity, and Coulter, just to see if they actually make any sense. Of course they don't, but that doesn't stop my mother from agreeing with them. She's just desperate for leaders who share her morals, and she believes they do. She does not see the pretense and hypocrisy, or if she does, it's overruled by her programming. She has no reason to fear the police state they're creating, because she would never do or say anything that would get her in trouble. It's both arrogant and stupid to underestimate the power of that.

I don't know what she knows or thinks about the Newtster. Her beliefs and attitudes just blow me away. There's no reasoning with her; she only believes what she wants to believe, and the rest just bounces off. If she doesn't have a rebuttal, it's all part of the man-god's grand plan and is supposed to happen. It almost always deteriorates to her being all upset and my needing prayer. So I've given up. My point is she's not stupid (and those of you who don't know anyone like her who is also intelligent will just have to trust me) and she's not the only one.

But does she hate Clinton? It doesn't sound like it. It sounds like she just disapproves of his personal behavior.
I'm sorry, but is it that hard to distinguish a new candidate from the personal behavior of an old one? For the good of the country?

This entire country is still suffering mightily because of it.
Without his lies, Al Gore would be president today.
Without the damage he did to the Democratic party and everyone associated with it, we wouldn't be suffering under the Bush administration today.
No, Bill Clinton gets no sympathy from me. His behavior has done great damage to this country and I, for one, do not forgive him for it.

Without his lies, Al Gore would be president today. The only way that would've happened is if the USSC wouln't have gotten illegally involved.
Without the damage he did to the Democratic party and everyone associated with it, we wouldn't be suffering under the Bush administration today. Again, if the USSC would NOT have stopped the recount, we would have Al Gore as President
No, Bill Clinton gets no sympathy from me
I'm sure he is losing sleep over the fact that you don't forgive him.
(on edit): I'm just tired of people saying that the BJ damaged the Democratic party. 51% of the people voted for Al Gore, yet the idiots in charge of the Florida elections couldn't get it right. If you remember, Katherine Harris had 25 people ready to REPLACE the electoral college votes if they were ready to swing in favor of Gore.
The 2000 election had the fix set long before election day.
The only one really hurt by the blowjob was Hillary, and I give her credit for holding on to her dignity through a public mess that should have been private.

Without the damage Bill Clinton did to all Democrats the race would never have been close enough FOR the Supreme Court TO intervene.
Those who do not learn from history, are condemned to repeat it. Perhaps we all need to learn what the cost of that "hummer" was so that we never agree to pay it again.

Can you please provide your source to this information? It seems that I remember President Clintons approval ratings were pretty high at the time he left office.
Maybe if more of our Democratic friends would've got off their lazy asses and voted, we would have won by such a margin that couldn't have been disputed. Or maybe if the Greens had been smart enough to realize that Nader was only siphoning votes from Gore, we would've won enough to cover the margin.
Wait....maybe if the idiots that voted for * and call themselves Democrats would've done the right thing, we wouldn't have this chump in the White House.
See my point?
There were many factors against us in 2000, not just Clintons hummer.

While I agree that what he does in his personal life is between him and his wife, and that impeachment was an overboard response, I blame his pecadillos for energizing the far right, the religious right, and many middle of the road republicans to get off their asses and vote for someone who was supposed to "restore honor and integrity to the White House." I'm sorry but he walked right into it.
I wish both the Clintons would have had the good sense to back away from public life for a decent amount of time to allow some recovery instead of keeping old wounds open. His appearances only give the right, who are more obsessed with his genitals than Monica was, the reason to keep throwing it up in everyone's face to this day. Granted it proves they can't possibly argue any issues in a rational debate.

12. Clinton was a tricky liabilty for Gore |
|
In 2000 people were excited about the peace and prosperity but really didn't equate it with just Clinton/Gore. But what many people did equate with Clinton/Gore was scandal, sex, same o' same o'... and that hurt Gore's chances at taking a larger lead.
I think by now people realize just how good things were during the Clinton/Gore years and now Clinton is very much a booster than a liability like he was in 2000.

It's time to shake the memes from the mediawhores. Clinton's private life had nothing to do with the hatred of the VRWC. They would have pounced on something else. The impeachment was one of the 4 "R"s: Remove, recount, Redistrict, Recall - coup against democracy. Gore won and they stole it. End of story. PS: there's no such thing as "close enough to steal. How many votes did they throw away?
