1. Especially when there is no democracy spreading

1. The Iraq elections point the way to theocracy.

2. The municipal elections in Saudi Arabia were hardly examples of universal suffrage and not even a threat to the House of Saud.

3. Mubarak changed his mind and will allow opposition in the upcoming elections in Egypt later this year, but the principal opposition leader is still under arrest.

4. The mass anti-Syrian demonstrations in Lebanon were countered with mass pro-Syrian demonstrations.

I thought your headline meant that you were tired of hearing that the war was a failure because of no WMDs found. I was expecting the text to say that Dubya was spreading Democracy to the ME so the war was a great success. Sometimes I read the text before I respond but you'll find that many here don't.

3. "spreading democracy" in no way compensates for . . .

illegally invading a sovereign nation . . .

illegally occupying a sovereign nation . . .

destroying a vast portion of a sovereign nation, including some of the planet's most ancient historic and cultural sites . . .

using illegal and immoral weapons (including WMDs) against the people of a sovereign nation . . . or . . .

killing tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of innocent citizens (including many women, children, and elderly) of a sovereign nation . . .

and nobody -- in this country, or internationally -- is doing anything about it . . . or even, for the most part, talking about it . . .

oh, btw . . . what they're spreading isn't democracy . . . what they're spreading is pure, unadulterated bullshit . . .
