I had a conversation tonight with 2 friends |
|
1 is a right wing bushlover from Alabama and 1 is a wealthy Democrat (although not up on issues) from Connecticut. I scored the biggest points because they both ganged up on me and said they have been waiting all week to find out what I thought of the Schiavo thing. I informed them that they probably did not want to hear my views on it. My friend from Alabama said that she would tell me what she thought, and I told her that she didn't have to. I already knew what she thought because all she watches is Fox,lol. :)

1. Remember, many conservatives think |
|
that this whole thing is an abuse of power. It's only the devout christians who want to preserve her "life".

it's about divide and conquer and keeping our heads busy while they're doing God knows what behind the scenes.

2. I love the face RWers make when you point out the flaw in their argument. |
|
Bewilderment, anger, frustration, stupidity, and an inability to add 2+2 in their heads. Oh it just makes my fucking day :D

3. My pro-Bush acquaintances (none are friends) all think... |
|
...that the Republicans are out of line in this deeply personal matter of the family. There is only a very small radical minority who feels that government interfering is appropriate.

America's first big hit in 1971. I bought the LP when it first came out. Was living in Washington, DC at the time. I was a draftee in the US Army assigned to the Pentagon.
I'm from Alabama, and the people I talk with say they are tired of hearing about it. Only the rabid bible thumpers want to put in their two cents worth. They watch Fox News like trained monkeys and repeat everything Hannity says.
Some may actually be waking up. One asked me, "Now what kinda' crap laws are they passing up there in Washington while this dog and pony show goes on?" Then I go to the mall and see a dozen SUVs with those stupid W stickers and get depressed all over again.

5. Thanks for noticing--it was an attempt at a metaphor |

although I don't think anyone really ever "got" it. The first part of the journey was Clinton's presidency, the rest is how I feel about the Bush administration.
On the first part of the journey I was looking at all the life There were plants and birds and rocks and things There was sand and hills and rings The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz And the sky with no clouds The heat was hot and the ground was dry But the air was full of sound
I've been through the desert on a horse with no name It felt good to be out of the rain In the desert you can remember your name 'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain La, la ...
After two days in the desert sun My skin began to turn red After three days in the desert fun I was looking at a river bed And the story it told of a river that flowed Made me sad to think it was dead
You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name It felt good to be out of the rain In the desert you can remember your name 'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain La, la ...
After nine days I let the horse run free 'Cause the desert had turned to sea There were plants and birds and rocks and things there was sand and hills and rings The ocean is a desert with it's life underground And a perfect disguise above Under the cities lies a heart made of ground But the humans will give no love
