the BIG MO has flipped to Dems |
|
You can feel it today. What political insiders call the Big Mo (momentum) has switched to Democrats. Bush is weakened and weakening. The country is realizing that Democrats have been right about Bushco and their predatory cronyism.
The trick will be to keep this momentum building through election day.
But I'm hopeful, really hopeful, of an ass-kicking of Republicans.
And if there's a Bushco fight to retain the nomination, the Republican party could fracture. Let's hope.

1. What about today in particular makes you sure of the change? |
|
I certainly hope you're right!

2. That's why I think Clark should run as a Republican |
|
He would fracture the party beyond recognition - imagine all the retired military hawks who despise Shrub but are loyal to the GOP, having a credible alternative within their own party ?
It would be the end of Bush, a remaking of the GOP, and the Dems would have a cakewalk in 04.

7. Could you run as a republican? |
|
If it is not in your blood, ya can't sell it. I couldn't pull it off. I wouldn't last a week. I get dizzy just here when the freepers post...
Were just going to have to beat *bush the old fashion way. Thats why we need to unite fast....

3. I agree, and it was obvious in the new "This Week" format |
|
I, too, can feel the BIG MO! I'm thinking back a few months, when we first started threads entitled "Drip... drip... drip." Well, it's pouring now, and there's not a plumber in America who can make it better. The Dems have the momentum!
At first I didn't like the changes in the "This Week" format, but over the hour it grew on me... although I always enjoyed the Weekly Round Table, it very well may have been "boring" to non political-junkies, like us. ;-)
Anyhow, I especially enjoyed "The List," which was a round-up that seemed, at least this week, concentrated on criticizing Bush, and the weekly round-up of comedians bashing Bush was priceless! That was some funny stuff, and it's good to find it all in one place. I think I liked "Craiggers" Kilborn and Dave Letterman the best:
Craiggers: "Let's see... $87 billion seems like a lot of money to repair $65 million in damages, but when you bomb a nation to rubble, it's customary to tip at least 15 percent."
Letterman: "80 billion dollars. And when you make out that check, remember, there are two L's in 'Halliburton.'"

4. 60% of the Americans polled said 89 Billion was too much to for |
|
Iraq, Dickie boy today said 89 is not enough and they will be coming back again and again for more.
Maybe the sheep will awake.

5. Agreed that things are looking up, but I think it's about 50/50 right now. |
|
But maybe we have the MO and that will change. Let's hope; and, of course, keep working, talking, protesting, etc.

6. I do think we have the momentum |
|
And I hope the Presidential candidates will understand that BUSH is the target. He are at a critical juncture. The people are noticing that the emperor has no clothes. Let's not distract them by aiming our fire at each other.
Keep your eyes on the prize!

Totally agree. Plus, if you do win the nomination, it's not good to piss off other Democrats. :-)

Wow, I was just at the local Catholic Church for mass for a special reason. I had not been there since the days of the beginning of the invasion of Iraq. I wasn't planning on going back after fasting during the Lent for several days for peace as the Pope has requested of all Catholics. I wonder what caused this turnaround?
All of the Repugs were gone - not one in sight that I could see. Attendance was WAY down and they were praying for peace in the Middleast and to end all wars and to keep our troops safe!
What a BIG turnaround indeed ... :D
