Clinton's under investigation for Pentagon dealings
Edited on Sun Sep-14-03 01:10 PM by bahrbearian
Sept. 22 issue — The Bush Administration has quietly installed a surprising figure in a high-level Pentagon post: L. Jean Lewis, the former federal fraud investigator who kicked up major controversy in the ’90s over her allegations about the Clintons’ Whitewater dealings. 1. I do not understand your heading
Did I miss something? When I read the news, it struck me as bad because even MSNBC said the "the traditionally nonpartisan Defense Department’s inspector general office." And she is definitely not non-partisan. Are you saying this because it is obvious what you think they'll try to do?

6. Is there any chance of a Halliburton investigation?
Nope, it will be the Clintons. Or Dean. Or Kerry. Or the local Democratic Party chairman here in the middle of nowhere.

2. She will burn in hell with the rest of them
The entire conspiracy to bring down Clinton and install the neocon cabal has greatly damaged this nation. I want to see people like this in jail, not getting a cushy job for telling lies.

3. Huh?
Nothing in the article suggests what your headline suggests.

Could you please edit it?

5. The headline is correct.
It anticipates what comes next.

I think I’m going insane, there is no part of government which allows for a check on their absolute power, and without it the outrageous corruption will only grow.

9. There's been there since last year, and nothing's happened
Clinton's no longer president. I just think it's wrong to have an obvious partisan in what's supposed to be a nonpartisan job.

10. Sorry,
but that's nonsense.

The article simply reports that a former Clinton investigator is now working at the Pentagon.

End of story.

It says NOTHING about investigating the Clintons. It says nothing about the Clinton's Pentagon dealings. You FEAR they may investigate the Clintons - but that's not supported by anything in the article.

12. You don't quite get my point....
There is NOTHING in the article that suggests your headline.

It's really that simple. The article doesn't mention ANYTHING about investigating the Clintons' Pentagon dealings.

Not a thing. Zip. Nada.

14. But it is real and only a matter of time.
Maybe it will be the October surprise if she runs. Think of how they abused power when Clinton was President, well you haven't seen anything yet. Their abuses know no bounds.

This is supposed to be a DOJ investigation but that can change.

Justice Department Gives Green Light to Hillary Accuser

"The Bush administration has quietly done an about-face on allegations that New York Sen. Hillary Clinton broke campaign finance laws in 2000 - with the Justice Department preparing to extradite one-time Clinton fund-raiser Peter Paul to the U.S. as part of a plea deal for his testimony."

13. I never did understand what Whitewater was
Just a lot of esoteric, impossible to understand bankers' jargon and financial mumbo jumbo lingo. It literally never made any sense. I could never explain it to anyone.

15. She sucks
From what I read about her she was clearly partisan in her dealings over FTC matters and Madison vis a vis Clinton and McDougal. Conason mentions her and Richard Iorio in depth in the Hunting of the President.
