Dickie with Timmy today

This appearance bothered me even more than usual. I have been stewing about it all day. It was horrid, the lies were flowing, the blantant disregard for the intelligence of the US public was front and center - no news in any of that - so why did it piss me off so much more than usual? Is it because I am finally sick of it? Is it because Timmy's inability to followup with the tough questions today seemed even worse than usual? Pehaps. But one thing has stuck in my head all day long. Cheney (crashcart as he was referred to in another thread, lol), snarled two or three times that the 87 Billion (with a B) would be divided 1/3 to rebuild Iraq and 2/3 to support the troops....

Support the troops. WHatever does he mean? The initial start up costs are bourne, now its maintenance. Colin Blow sez we'll be out of there in a year. So, perhaps that supporting of troops could be expanded a bit. It hits me - he is talking about needing more money not for the protection of the troops in Bagdad and the other metro areas. No, he is talking about the building of (with generous funding to Halliburton) the string of bases that will protect the pipeline straight into the Kuwiatt border. One day we will wake up with a string of bases that won't allow us to leave for decades. Either Colin or Dickie is lying. Or, could it be both? I'm still pissed.

I lost track of how many times I shouted LIAR! at the screen. He is clearly good at lying--this generation's Tricky Dick.

There was one point where he maintained that Iraq had as many as seven (!) mobile WMD labs. The obvious question to ask at that point was "so where are they?" But of course Russert didn't do that.

Russert attacked Dean with fangs bared but gives Cheney all the softballs. I expected it, but was repulsed to actually witness it.

6. That was such a farce--Cheney is not that good of a liar

but it's easy to get away with it when GE Russert never questions his answers. They say the press does this softball interview so that they can keep their access to these losers. My question is, if you aren't going to ask any significant questions and follow up when the asshole is obviously lying to your face, then what is the point of the press even being there? The whole hour was unwatchable because Russert was such a pussy.
