The Pope Really MUST Hurry Up! The MSM is Running Out Of Analysts!
Edited on Fri Apr-01-05 06:31 PM by DistressedAmerican
MSNBC has has an odd line-up today. Along with the endless string of priests, cardinals, and bishops that you have never heard of, I have seen Bob Woodward expounding on the pope death watch.

Yesterday they had Iraq expert Con Conklin (sp?) blathering on about Terri Schaivo. Either they are scraping the bottom of the barrel or they have mixed up their rolodex!

I'm going to start having I drink everytime I hear the phrase "grave condition"! In condition for the grave? Classy!

3. You are going to be flamed... don't make such a light joke
Edited on Fri Apr-01-05 06:32 PM by expatriot
about the Pope. Many DUers will be upset with you because they are Catholic. They don't like people making light of the Pope's imminent death.

On edit: this is what I have learned today on DU.

5. It obviously wasn't about the Pope
It was about MSM. They probably burnt out all their pundits covering Terri 24/7.

6. You Are Right! I Would Never Question Other's Religious Beliefs!

That would be insensitive! Nothing like the right shoving God down my throat which, all right thinking Americans know is for my own good!

9. It was a joke about the MSM
Edited on Fri Apr-01-05 06:37 PM by incapsulated

I would hope that Catholics wouldn't be that sensitive (I was brought up in the religion myself).

I don't see any difference between jokes about Schiavo and the Pope, in terms of what should be "acceptable" or "tasteless", myself. Terri was a completely private citizen whose life was dragged before the public without her consent. There were plenty of jokes and worse about that coverage.

13. Besides with the amount of christian dogma that smacks me in the face
everyday, I am beyond worrying if I offend people of ANY Christian denomination! The offend me every day and I am supposed to suck it up in the name of tolerance?

Where's my FREEDOM FROM religion? The founders could navew been a bit more explicit if you ask me!

Oh right, according to the vatican, Jesus is welcoming him "this evening"!

Hope he has his photo ID. Just not as easy to fly as it used to be.

12. its that Dr. Bernadine Healy who really gets to me!! She is suddenly the
new 'expert' on death and dying (We saw a lot of her with Terri S. also). She tips over leaning Right.

20. I noticed that too about Healy....
and am annoyed by her as well. She put all that doubt out there about Terri's PVS ("how can they be sure???"), today she was mentioning how peaceful the Pope was "dying".

I.just.don't.like.her. Especially after remodelling the Red Cross offices with 9-11 donations...errrrrggggghhhh.

17. Are You Kidding Me? They Love It! Best Coverage They've had in years!
I wouldn't be surprised to see them hold the info as long as possible to drag out the coverage!

Just prop the guy up in the window and make him wave for a couple of days and we might just forget all about the whole child molester thing.

No Not Micheal!
