BBV: Impact of CA recall ruling?
I'm trying to work out how the ruling today fits in with the larger issues. The ACLU appears to have successfully argued that 'antiquated' voting systems should not be used, and that the recall election should not go forward until new systems are in place as mandated by HAVA.

This argument has merit, with the caveat (plain to all those who have followed this developing story) that there's great uncertainty as to whether the new systems are any better than the old. Or whether these systems are in fact worse than the old ones in a new and sinister way.

Is there a BBV-activist concensus which applies here? Elucidate, por favor...

2. I think we need to wait
for futher rulings in this case, either from the full court or from the (not so)Supremes. Then we can read every word of the rulings and try to find some holes for us to slide electronic voting thru. This is going to be very interesting. As much as I abhor the judicial branch being involved in how I cast my ballot, we are going to be stuck with them from now on. So, we need to find ways to use this to our advantage. Just my thoughts.
