We need to remind people - This misAdministration actually put
a division in to specifically spread lies to the American people.

Then ADMITTED IT.

Then claimed that they closed up the office (was that one of their earliest lies?).

Point out that this Administration actually admitted that they will lie to get what they want!

1. Do you think this is the first administration to do this?
I believe there has been an unofficial office of propaganda since at least the Civil War, perhaps even longer. This was just the first administration to get caught.

2. no
it didn't get caught, they proudly announced it with a press release! Then they were surprised when people thought it was stupid and offensive.

I mean, who would have thought it?

3. I'd say that this was the first administration which actually admitted
it.

I'm not saying that they're the first to do it.

Remember also, Faux won a court battle which allowed it to fabricate news stories.

4. they're spending a BILLION DOLLARS on PR overseas

WASHINGTON — The Bush administration spends $1 billion a year trying to polish the United States' image around the world, yet polls show anti-Americanism rising to record levels, especially in Muslim and Arab nations where the government is concentrating its efforts.
Now, a new report from Congress' General Accounting Office explains why the federal government's efforts at "public diplomacy" have been such a failure.
