Senate Unveils Quayle Bust

Senators Trent Lott and Christopher J. Dodd, Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, hosted a ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda on September 10, 2003 to unveil a marble bust of Vice President Dan Quayle. Vice President Dick Cheney and President George Herbert Walker Bush were the featured speakers. Vice President Quayle, his family, and more than 300 guests attended. The bust is the latest addition to the Senate’s Vice Presidential Bust Collection, which was created in 1886 to honor vice presidents of the United States, whose duties include serving as Presidents of the Senate.

3. The Bust of Dan Quayle was unveiled
In washington today. During the ceremony some Young Republican bowed down before his image while their owners spoke in hushed tones about a man who struggled for forty long years to learn how to walk and chew gum at the same time.

9. I understand that a major problem
with depicting Danny's head in a realistic manner was finding a dense enough material to render it in.

11. The sad part
of this story was that so many people congratulated the block of marble and Marilyn took it home with her.

And no one ever noticed the difference.
