The Meatgrinder
As the campaigns heat up and primary time comes closer, I think it's a good idea to remind my friends here that the process of selecting our nominee is very much akin to a meatgrinder. No matter what any candidate enters the race as, they will come out as something changed forever by the process itself.

Candidate bashing threads, Right wing attacks, "librul" media slanting is all part of the process to see who will survive.

Actually this is a good thing. The rather nasty process of competition for the nomination tells us a lot about the character of the candidates and also prepares the candidate for the ultimate attacks by the Republicans. In the end, the eventual nominee will be much stronger by virtue of going through this process....and so will we.
