This is great news! All those, phone, faxes, e-mails and Move On.org....deserve big thanks!

Bush said he would veto it......but we'll have to wait and see how that turns out.

1. Bush hasn't vetoed anything yet....
not one single piece of legistlation that I know of. He'll just let it slide into law and hope it slips under the radar.

9. Zell Miller again failed his party and voted no.
But some good republicans are voting for their people's interest.

Russ Limbaugh had two shows asking his people to write their congresscritters and demand they vote no. Russ must be furious right now.

6. I'll bet he veto's this one
Just a hunch. He "owes" some contributors one this one. Thought I read somewhere that he was being counseled to veto this one too.

16. "I'll bet he veto's this one"
I agree....with AWOLs poll numbers taking
a nosedive and with no good news to campaign
on domestically or foreign he's in big
trouble. If the right wing media can buy
up more markets they can pound more Fox like
pro bush propaganda into the public to get
him reelected. Rove will want this.

20. It won't pass the House
It has to pass the House of Representatives and that is very unlikely right now so Bush won't get the oppurtunity to veto it.

The big question is whether or not he will veto an appropriations bill that is likely to include a provision overturning the new 45% ownership rule.

7. He'll veto it because odds are that the Senate won't be able to get the
votes to override it.

12. But they can probably get the votes to filibuster
If I were Daschle and Bush was threatening to Veto it, I'd start working the filibustering charm!

13. I think that you might be crossed up
resolution= against FCC
filibuster= for FCC

The override of a veto needs 67% of both Houses

I guess they were so afraid of the media getting even more Pravdaesque that even the boatloads of bribes didn't work.

19. He thought it was too broad
He seems to have some problems with the FCC decision but thought that there were good aspects of the new rule. Also, McCain could have, as Chairman of the Commerce Committee, potentially stopped this resolution from proceeding but he didn't.
