Do the Iraqi protestors really want to execute Saddam?? |
|
Unbelievably, I was watching ABC when I came in from work today and they were showing the anti-American protests in Baghdad - at the same spot where Saddam's statue was torn down by the Americans. One of the protestors said he wanted the Americans to leave and that they would execute Saddam Hussein. I wondered if they would execute Saddam ?? Or if they are trying to play a quick one on George W Bush - who knows he's in a pickle and is looking for an escape route. Of course, escape but still maintain the key to the power and the resources.
But, they know that nothing would please George Bush more than to see Saddam executed. Nothing. And would they play to his weakness? I think, maybe?

1. That was that Mahdi Army |
|
The Mahdi Army is made up of Shias. Saddam mass murdered Shias so it is pretty clear why they hate him.

3. I think a lot of Iraqis actually like Saddam |
|
But Muqtada Al Sadr is not one of them. His father was assasinated by Saddam Hussein. Quite brutally.

2. Yes, I think they really want to execute Saddam |
|
If I were Iraqi, I would want to execute Saddam. Slowly and painfully.
And they don't think colonial rule under Bush and Blair are any better. They seem to want to give them the same fate. I'll settle for those two being sentenced to life in prison by an interntional tribunal for starting an unprovoked war of aggression.
