Face it. Edwards supported the Iraq war fully. He thought it was the right thing too do. He also claims to oppose NAFTA, but he never had to vote on it. He also supported a Bankruptcy reform bill some years ago. I just don't get it.

I wish we would support someone who could win.
Clark could have won. Dean might have won. Kerry and Edwards are too tainted.

5. Yeah, aren't you a Clark supporter?
So how can you slight Edwards for saying he's opposed to NAFTA without voting for it, and then support a guy who never voted on anything???

Argh, LOL!!

The VP slot is completely useless, and IMO is not a good gauge of anything. I can think of a dozen different ways Edwards could have tromped Bush's ass, but then I was/am an Edwards supporter, so there's that.

9. He won one statewide election.

He won NC once, which is more than Al Gore can say, for one thing.
He won a primary, and a statewide election for the US Senate, in a southern state with NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL.

That to me says either North Carolinians are dumb as bricks, or he knows WTF he's doing, and he's worth a second look.

He was not running at the top of the ticket in 2004, and it was John Kerry's show. That, to me, doesn't even count.

2. Let's support no one.
Let's just sit down in a puddle of our cooling urine and remain there in perpetuity. ;-)

6. Bill Clinton also gets widespread democratic support by many on DU
despite supporting NAFTA (it was enacted during his administration) and I think being generally supportive of the administration on Iraq. While I don't support Edwards on everything, and don't know if I will support him for '08, I do think he is one of the more true populist voices out there right now--especially on the important issue of poverty in this country.

8. I agree that you just don't get it.
You've missed the boat this evening on John Edwards, John Kerry, and Dennis Kucinich.

Why not dig FDR up and blast him as well?

Thanks so much for your heart-felt teamwork as a Democrat, a progressive, a liberal, etc.

11. I'm just showing
how easy it is to attack eachother. It's so common. I volunteered for all three of those guys at some point one way or another. DU is a great place to come if you want to see Dems get killed.

10. Nice guy but to conservative. Country will be ready for a liberal...
and a shit kicker. Someone like Brian Schweitzer, Gov, of MT would fill the bill or Clark, if he lets it all hang out and gets pissed off. Edwards is a truly fine person, I believe, but not a firebrand. Way things are goine, we're going to need that.
