So the Cons wanna eliminate the filibuster |
|
Lets see. They control congress and the exec. branch completely (and the media branch.) The only thing that (occasionally) stands in the way of them taking a complete and utter stranglehold on the country is parts of the judiciary. So they are out to control that now.
But what if the Dems are back in the majority sometime, the Cons will regret getting rid of the filibuster? That's just it. Wake up people of America. They have no intention of leaving power. They control the voting machines.
Until everyone who cares about straightening this system out focuses on the e-vote machines a la Diebold et al, this is game over. Forget winning "hearts and minds" of red state haters.
Get rid of the machines as they currently exist, or welcome to the New American Century.
This has to be priority number 1.

3. How are we going to get rid of them? |
|
I mean if they no longer have to worry about losing elections than how do we force them to use verifiable election machines? Or to put it another wya, if they don't have to worry about getting rid of the filibuster, do they have to worry about us? Bryant Check it out --> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

6. Well, they are in a big hurry and don't want to wait 'til next time, but y |
|
yes, they could just wait 'til next time, get enough of a majority, with the rigged machines and thus predictable results of the next round of congressional elections. One reason they're in a hurry, is their activist Supreme Court could be tied up for a while longer. With it tied, usually it can't act. There's too much potential that the moderates might vote 5-3, so the cons don't want to wait it out. So, the only opening dems have is, tie up the system, via a filibuster, to put pressure on re: the Ct. nominee. And, without that, there's no pressure available. So, they are trying to do away with the one thing that stands between them and Total power. Sad and spooky but true. What's to do? If they get the votes on this, sounds like US system is out the door. We'll have fascism, pure and simple. Call it what it is, as Garrison said in "JFK" movie. Fascism.

7. they feel safe doing this because they believe . . . |
|
that no one but Repugs will ever again be elected in sufficient numbers to control either house of Congress or the presidency . . . that's how they've planned it, and this is just one part of their strategy . . .

9. If 2004 worked, they'll rig all future elections. |

Even Mr. and Mrs John Heinz have been complaining about the election, though it would have helped if they did so a long time ago like when we DUers first knew!

10. The Repukes are approaching their "End Game" |
|
But we, The People, have a few "nuclear options" of our own:
1. A general strike until the Repukes relent...
2. Withdrawing our money out of the banks until they relent...
3. Not paying our taxes...

I hope moveon, Kerry and the Dems in general call for MASSIVE protests outside the Senate. I live near DC so I would definitely be there.
