I've seen the video clip it comes from. The excerpt might be over at The Smoking Gun.

Mr Token Man himself.
Can you imagine what the Coulter/Limbaugh screaming monkeys would do if there was a picture like that of Gore or Clinton?

7. I won't stand for that. |

I dislike how the GOP is buying California to get Davis out of office, but I am not going to stand for this, whether it's coming from DU or not. Schwarzenegger, while a tool of an anti-democratic movement, does not deserve this. He's a liberal who, if anything, might do something that is quite controversial in the GOP, take the religion out of the party platform. Insulting him for smoking pot and calling it an offense to family values is disingenuous. I'm sure many of us here smoke herb, and I, though I don't smoke it, prefer the lax marijuana policies of western Europe where people aren't going to end up in jail getting their asses raped and introduced to real crime. And us whining about family values? That's like if Rash attacked a Democrat for being a homophobe and saying that that Democrat is homophobic. I wouldn't want the neocons doing that to me, so I don't like seeing that done to them.
I am not condoning the recall, I am making a stand against dirty tactics. Give the guy a break; he's not even claiming that he's a pure Christian.

I never said a cross word against Mr. Muscles until he decided to work with Karl Rove. Nobody forced him to take part in the recall circus.

NO ONE is claiming that Schwarzenegger is a really Christian guy. From what I hear the evangelists in California are supporting McClintock. On top of that, if we accuse Repricks of hypocrisy they can do the same thing to us (they do in fact, like when Hannity talks about how the great Senator Byrd was once in the Klan). Attack the Republicans for what they're doing now, not Schwarzenegger for smoking a J.
As for the post by the guy with the star of David, I understand that Schwarzenegger's victory may result in California going to Bush which guarantees Bush's reelection. I am saying that there are ways of going after a a reprick without looking like a bunch of assholes in the process. At least Schwarzenegger doesn't have a holier-than-thou Trinity Broadcast Network approach to personal issues.

First, you , like many, seem to be assuming the recal will pass. our polling shows that its in a virtual tie, and NO is gaining.
Second, Arnold is trailing the dem candidate Bustamante by some 6% at last count. :nuke:

Simply because one party holds the governorship has never guaranteed that they would pull the state for the party's presidential candidate. I think that's highly overrated.
For example, Tommy Thompson couldn't pull Wisconsin for the Republican presidential candidates the whole time he was governor, even though he was re-elected himself 4 times. Hell, Wisconsin was one of the few states that went for Dukakis in '88, just a year after Tommy was elected governor.
If Arnold DOES get elected, I think California will still vote Democratic in 2004 in the presidential election.

I really think the problem is that he is a tool. He could be the most liberal Republican on the planet but it doesn't really matter if he is going to fall in line with what they tell him to do.
Look what is happening in Texas. The big dogs pull the strings and the puppies respond. There are a few "liberal" Republicans in Congress and look how often they tow the line.
Arnold may or may not be a nice man, doesn't matter. If he does what they tell him too California is lost. That is not good for California or for the country.

sorry, he's not a liberal. it takes more to be a "liberal" than mere hollywood celebrity, gangbanging, adultery, and pot-smoking.
the guy has been spouting lame "pro-business" (code word for anti-labor) rhetoric, and has stated he wants to CUT taxes while balancing the budget. he's also trying to revive the "flat tax" idea.
Arnie is no liberal. and no matter what his personal beliefs are, he's made himself a tool of the right wing. he deserves all the flak we can throw in his direction.
