7. Can someone please explain this to me?
Why would any self-respecting democrat vote for a bankruptcy bill written by the banking industry? And why would they vote for a bill that will win anyway (the repukes will guarantee that)? Why are they so eager to just roll over? I must be missing something.

If there were an enforceable bribery statute in Washington DC and an Elliot Spitzer to prosecute it, all of congress would be in jail.

BILL TITLE: Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act

Consumer protection act? To protect the credit card companies from the consumers? This is like the Clean skies act or the healthy forest bill. What a crock of shit!

21. Bankruptcy Abuse, Lawsuit Abuse
You can just see Karen Hughes sitting around the Oval, with a couple of large Domino's pepperoni pizzas, dreaming this sht up. We talk of domestic abuse or something, they run away with it. Corporations are being ABUSED! Corporations are SUFFERING at the hands of ABUSIVE consumers. Yeah, that's the ticket!

However...

Herseth, Hoyer, Meek, Wu (ouch!), the aptly named Moran, and most especially candidate-in-training Ford really, really should have known better.

20. Ah yes, Minnesota's resident DINO
Colin Peterson voted for it, as did Oregon's mushy middlers Darlene Hooley and David Wu and S.W. Washington's Brian Baird.

:-(

But the good news is that no other Minnesota Dems voted for it, nor did my two favorite Oregon Congresscritters, Peter DeFazio and Earl Blumenauer. :loveya:

Good for Loretta Sanchez! The No votes appear to all be Democratic. I'm disappointed that any Democrat would vote for this, but we can still see that the Democratic Party is far superior to the Republican Party.

42. I'm never voting for any of these f***wits
If I stay in Nevada, that incloudes Reid. I'll instead vote Green, Mickey-Mouse Party, or whatever for their slots. This is a dealbreaker for me: not only am I personally affected by it (though my unforunately necessary case should get under the wire in time), but I think that any so-called Democrat voting for such a patently pro-corporate/anti-consumer measure fails a critical litmus test.

These pigs have lost my vote forever -- if one goes on to the Presidential race I will not be voting for a Dem president.

every working family.

This is the ultimate, unexcusable sell-out, and all of these republican plants in our party need to be kicked to the curb.
