because the field is just too damn crowded and it's taking valuable face time away from the candidates who are there to actually WIN and not just raise there profile. I propose Braun and Graham drop out now. And sometime over the next 4-5 months we can have Sharpton and Kucinich bow out, leaving the real meat and potatoes:) of the democratic candidates left.

Dean
Clark
Kerry
Edwards
Gephardt
Lieberman

I'd like to see someone put together a poll with just those 6 and see where the sharpton/graham/braun/kucinich supporters flock to.

7. we have to deal with it
Lieberman is going to be there until the end, don't hold your breath hoping that he's going to drop out anytime soon, though we'd all like him too. He's on a crusade against democrats.

Gephardt I have nothing against, people around here seem to ignore him but he has his supporters around the country, he's a viable candidate.

we have plenty of time before the primaries.

we've been starved for dem news coverage for so long that we should relish every moment of this sudden frenzy.

do you think this large field of candidates was an accident? think again.

4. Ahh, another anti-democratic Democrat wanting to thin the herd
Geez folks, thinning the herd is what the primaries are about, not before them. What do you not understand about the primary process?

5. I'd like Lieberman, Gephardt, Kerry, Edwards, Dean and Graham
to drop out. Then have it be a Mosley-Braun, Sharpton, Kucinich, Clark race. :)

...goober-natorial candidates who are stealing all of Ah-nold's media attention?

8. how about * dropping out?

9. Uh, no thanks.
Why dilute the field this early? I wouldn't want to lose ANY of the four you mentioned at this point in the race. (Although I would throw a party if Lieberman dropped out.) Kucinich and Sharpton in particular are strong, authentic, fearless voices who have a lot to add to any debate/discussion. Our party should not be ashamed of its true liberals. I am supporting Dean but will also be donating to Kucinich to help him stay in the race.

10. How about we let the voters decide who's viable or not?
If it were up to the amateur strategists at DU, no one would still be in the race.

11. I don't want anyone gone,
The more people in the race the more people to point out Bush's failings, which can't be a bad thing.

12. Bush and Cheney should drop out
Resign, get impeached, flog the dog, walk the plank,
get removed.

13. Nobody should leave (except maybe Lieberman and Graham)
Lieberman hasn't got a prayer and Graham gets little or no attention. I don't ever remember hearing him speak and I've watched almost all of the debate/speeches on CSPAN.
