My Eye Witness Account of San Francisco Kerry Rally...
Kerry spoke to a packed house of enthusiastic DEMS...

Highlights included:

Dr. Fate shaking the senator's hand!!!!!!!! (well, for me anyway!)

a great introduction from Kerry advisor, Clinton's Secretary of Defense William Perry! He guranteed the audience that "Bush will be barking up the wrong tree if he tries to attack us on defense..."

The promise of even more national defense figures, politicians and celebrities to be revealed soon, who will be endorsing Sen Kerry...

Criticisms of Bush Korea policy- "this administration makes us less safe"

criticism of Bush's broken promise and failure to build real coalitions...

criticism of "trickle on" economics...

He criticised Bush and karl Rove for the "Mission Accomplished' stunt, remarking that "I actually know a thing or two about carriers- I worked with then in the Gulf of Tolnkin"...He also promised that he would only ingage troops as a "last resort"- repeating and emphasising the phrase "last resort"...

Pleged to form a volunteer corp for young people in exchange for free college...

Pleged that after his battle with prostate cancer, he realized that we ALL need the type of top notch health care that congressman recieve...

He said "there is one person in this country who deserves to be laid off...George W. Bush!"

Over all a great time- I am glad that we have so many fine candidates, each offering there own qualities and ISSUES to the debate- all Dubya has is "9-11..9-11...9-11---did I mention 9/11?"

Despite the media lies, I think Bush is in trouble!!!

It's really good news for the Dems - the excitement is rising, and spreading all around.

Edited for spelling

5. Thanks for the report
Kerry got a real boost today, with Feinstein's endorsement. Sounds like there are more to come as well!

6. Good report and thanks for your participation in the process
Kerry is a great candidate that we all should be proud of. I will have absolutly no problem voting for him if he wins the nomination. I just wish this period was over so we all could focus on our champion, whomever that ends up being.

10. Did Kerry mention anything about the recall?
I'm hoping all of the Democratic Presidential Primary candidates COME to California and speak out against the recall. So far Dean, Sharpton, Graham and Kucinich(?) I believe have actually come here to speak out against it.

11. Thanks Dr!
Nice to hear some positive news. Some Dean neophyte had the nerve to say here today that Kerry should quit the race! :eyes:

15. Yeah- its way to early for media or DU predictions...
Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 01:16 AM by Dr Fate
...I recall some posters suggesting he should quit...- Kerry did not appear a quitter to me- he believes in what he is doing...

...But I have no beef with Dean supporters- I like Dean and Kerry and good solid DEMS in general- all the candidates are bringing great issues to the debate...
