1. Interesting!
All of these dates are after the "major combat phase" ended.

He sounded pretty upbeat about the war during earlier phases. See the FAIR threads.

Shit, I didn't realize the "major combat phase" ended in 2001!

Try paying attention to facts over personal biases, mmkay? :D

2. For Heaven's Sake
What's so hard about saying : This for those who say that Clark supported the war.

And get it together. He's entered the fray, and that means- ta da- that he's going to get attacked. By all means, respond to it, but don't start out by calling names.

4. They Were VERY Anti-Kosovo
And they had a major axe to grind with anyone associated with it.

They also implied there was no difference between Bush and Gore, IIRC. Which is UNfair and untrue.

13. They struck ME as idiots when they promoted the "no difference" in 2000
(cover of print edition had bush/Gore's heads springing from one body). They strike me as idiots once again, since they are helping bush once again, even after seing the results of their 2000 smears.

how is that? I didn't realise quoting Clark helped Bush. Are you saying the quotes are untrue? My take is that they are calling the media on declaring him an "antiwar" candidate.

"Their opponents, those who questioned the necessity or wisdom of the operation, are temporarily silent, but probably unconvinced."

That's what he said! Was he including himself!

You love Clark all you want to but either you have just drank way too much of the kool-aid or you are trying to spin something you can't spin.

He was stating a fact. He was not slamming them (which would have been a neat trick, considering he was ONE of them). He was not saying the Admin was right.

It's not me that has a problem with their cognitive function. That is absolutely out of the military realm and contradicts everything he said.

10. HaHa I found a quote where the DNC is mad at Clark
Edited on Tue Sep-16-03 06:51 PM by OKNancy
and says the only person who would want to be seen with Clark was Howard Dean.
-----------------
Since the outbreak of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Clark has been on CNN, bemoaning the Pentagon and Gen. Tommy Franks's strategy in the opening days of taking down Saddam. And while several other senior retired military men have made critical comments about the ongoing fighting -- Ret. Gen. Barry McCaffrey, another former Clinton-era official, has been quick to criticize during his stints on MSNBC -- Clark has by far been the most vocal.

"It just looks really bad that he's knocking the troops and the way we're executing this war," says the DNC staffer. "He's taking hits everywhere, on TV, in the newspapers, on talk radio. People are furious at him. We can't fundraise off performances like this. The only presidential candidate that would probably want to be seen with him is Howard Dean."

Prior to Clark's "tanking" on CNN, the DNC had Clark pegged for political stardom. He'd visited New Hampshire, and had hinted that he was interested in perhaps running for president as a Democrat. Now, the DNC isn't sure what they can do with the man who directed Bill Clinton's military machinations in Kosovo.

30. What chaps my ass is that we have Democrats who buy into this
Rush Limbaugh style propaganda bullshit without having watched Clark on CNN.It's easy to go back and cipher through the transcripts and pick and choose lines and paragraphs to paint a pro or negitive reaction. At least Republicans will have a problem trying to do this, because they would come off anti-war themselves pushing this crap. His position has not changed at no time regarding this war.He was agianst it from the get go.He knew the reality was Bush was going in come hell or high water,if any American wanted this misson to fail after it had allready had started they are sorry than hell in my book. While Clark was agianst the war he like the vast majority of Americans did not want the mission to fail.If anybody wants to critize Clark because he supported the troops and was cautiously optimistic thats their right. But we as Democrats need to get off this hoping for failure of our nation so we can have opportunity for our causes. To fault Clark for wanting this to succede is ludricris and it casts our party and causes in a bad light and dooms us to failure as well.
