I am really trapped. I love Arianna to death. I'm gay but there is just something about a intelligent, whitty, lady with an accent that drives me wild. (Ewww. She's almost old enough to be my mother! :p) I agree with her on most things -- aside from Charter schools but I went down that path before too -- and I believe she would be a great Governor of California. On the other hand I really want California to stay a Democratic State. If she was a Democratic Candidate it would be full speed ahead, but she isn't -- she's an independent.
So who do I side with? I don't live in California but I feel the events that are going on there effect me just the same (and they do). *sigh* Complications.
Anyway onward to the e-mail. Regardless of who you support her words ring true. Any delay is good for the Democratic process and is gonna hurt Arnold big time.

Dear Thomas,
Given the events of the last few days, you're probably
wondering where things stand with the campaign. So
I thought I'd drop you a line and give you an update.
But before I do, I want to let you know that I think
the recent court ruling is very good news, not only
for the people of California but for people all across
the nation, where the disenfranchisement of voters
continues to be the dirty little secret of American
politics. Did you know that six million people's votes
were not counted on Election Day 2000?
I've been speaking out about the problem of the disenfranchisement
of voters - particularly poor and minority voters --
for many years, and I'm happy that the court's ruling
has put the national spotlight back on the critical
need for ongoing election reform.
Read some of my columns on the subject:
http://VoteArianna.com/index.php#votercolumns As for the campaign, the news is also good: this delay,
if it's upheld, will allow us to continue registering
new voters and reactivating those disaffected voters
who have turned their backs on the political system.
It will also give voters more time to scrutinize the
top contenders. And the more the public hears what
we all have to say on the issues, the better for me
and my campaign - and the worse for those candidates
hoping to win based on celebrity or the fact that they
happen to be the next guy in line.
But whatever the final decision of the courts, know
this: I am fully committed to continuing this campaign,
whether it's for another three weeks or another six
months.
If you keep supporting me, I'll keep running and campaigning
and speaking out on the issues that matter.
And with your help, we can make history on October
7th. Or March 2nd . Or whenever they decide Election
Day will be!
For now, I will continue to hit the campaign trail.
When the courts have made their final ruling, I will
contact you again and let you know what, if any, adjustments
need to be made in our campaign strategy.
In any case, I will still need your help, your enthusiasm,
and your commitment to taking back our government.
The fight has just begun!
Thank you for your ongoing support.
All my best,
Arianna
