NDP is election's wild card

Leftish coalition just might work

OTTAWA—If there is to be a wild card in the volatile mix of a snap spring federal election, it will be the NDP.

As they slide down the slippery slope of public opinion, the Liberals could be only a poll or two away from being overtaken by the New Democrats in national voting intentions.

By the end of last week, an Environics poll commissioned by the CBC put the two parties within the margin of error of each other.
