Support Sheila Jackson Lee |
|
Just heard on Keith Olbermann she is circulating a letter trying to get the congress cafeteria to change the names back to French Fries and French Toast.
I know it is totally ridiculous she even has to do this, but I'm just glad someone is still sane.

I would not support her in any way for any reason at any time.
But they're free to call fries french again. I always thought that it was more cruel to name them for a country thats supposed to be known for snazzy food. I would have thought that they would be pleased to disassociate themselves.

I only remember her for being unapologetic supporter of Clinon during the impeachment nonsense. I've never heard those accusations.

6. I thought you must be nuts, so I googled and |
|
http://famousidiot.com/index.php?celebrity_id=107http://lauriapple.diaryland.com/fun.htmlwere amusing, but I don't see her as so bad other than those 2 funnies. Her voting record is quite strange; sometimes liberal, sometimes conservative, so what's the big deal?

take a look at ALL the votes, you will note a few are indeed conservative. Thank you for the opportunity of sharing this site: http://www.issues2000.org/TX/Sheila_Jackson_Lee.htm

|
instead of the moon? Just a claim I've seen at Free Republic, so I know how valid it is from the source. I have nothing against her at all though, she has a pretty solid liberal voting record, and is totally in the right on this issue.

because she is not afraid to speak out. If we had more like her who would do so we would not have this wing nut in the whitehouse. Some people want to brand anyone with a mouth, but the repugs look for the big fat mouths.Who is all over the radio and tv waves Limbaugh, O'reilly Hannity, Fox news Wolf etc, and why are they on? Hint! because they are not afraid to speak out and I might add wrongly at that. Anyone can be a pussy cat but will get eaten by the big bad wolf.

Real Republican.
Sheila Jackson Lee is my representative. Big Surprise: SHE IS NOT PERFECT!
However, I'll be glad to continue to vote for her.
I know her record. If you don't, Google it up. Unless you're "too lazy"...

She lacks the brilliance of those who preceded her in her (my) district--Barbara Jordan & Mickey Leland.
As I said, she is not perfect. Sometimes she leads with her mouth.
However, she is very good at pissing off Republicans. So I'll be glad to continue to vote for her.
And you can continue to be scared.

All republicans which may explain it. Better watch Allen and Cantor, both rising stars. Good committee appointments and respected.

It's not nearly as many gaffes and slip-ups that moron in the WH says. It's amazing that the freepers harp on one harmless mistake by Ms. Jackson and let their idiot resident off scot free.

I mean the press conference was about the MARS rover.
What kind of moron would think that you could drive from Mars to the Moon.
Much more likely, the whole subject confused her, but that didnt stop her from asking "an important" question.

Look, someone said support Jackson Lee and responded with valid critism of her.
I know everyone makes gaffs sometimes, but Im quite leerily of folks who speak out on issues that they clearly had no understanding of whatsoever.

In what she actually said about the "Freedom Fries" it's here:
www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/politics/2103982
Rather than copy the whole article, here's the rebuttal:
"...House Administration Committee Chairman Bob Ney, R-Ohio, who initiated the menu change with Rep. Walter Jones, R-N.C., said they'll continue to fight for their freedom fries.
"Ney said that the French have come out with an untenable timetable for elections in Iraq, confounding U.S. efforts to win U.N. backing for the reconstuction efforts.
"'They were noncooperative and arrogant then,' before the war, 'and they are again noncooperative and arrogant,' Ney said."

34. Jackson-Lee is awful. |
|
She's smart as a whip...JD from Yale if I'm not mistaken...but she is one of the most reprehensible members of Congress. Her narcissism is legendary. She was so rude to the flight attendants on one of her flights that the airline sent her a letter asking her not to fly the friendly skies with them again. She also got busted having a staffer pick her up every morning in a government car and drive her literally like 200 feet to her office. And she's gone through about 200 staff in the last few years, the highest turnover rate in Congress. The woman is out of control.

not a very pretty picture.
And she spends House time bemoaning the lack of ethnic names for storms. For this I understand Limbaugh referrs to the impending hurricane as Hurricane Shiela Jackson Lee.
What a legacy.
