Colin Powell is Lying

Mike Hersh writes, "Aside from lust for petroleum, killing Saddam would help the Bush family cover up their deals which sent $6.8 BILLION of US tax money to Saddam in return for favors Bush's father enjoyed. Those $billions which bought Saddam 'dual use' equipment American troops will have to fight against if/when this Bush invades. Powell didn't mention this Bush/Baghdad connection, nor did he recall the $millions of business VP Cheney conducted with Saddam recently. I guess he was too busy proclaiming Saddam the biggest menace the world has ever known to bother explaining why - if that's so - people named Bush and Cheney helped him get that way... Powell is a good soldier whose first important task was helping the government lie to the people about the Mi Lai Massacre. Each time Powell tells us we'd be better off massacring thousands or even millions of innocent Iraqis rather than continuing inspections and destroying any threat from Iraq without killing innocents, he's lying."

Like Tom Hagen, Robert Duvall's role in the Godfather movies. He covers up the family business and gives it an air of respectability.

All of this business in Iraq and with bin Laden is just a big gang war, on a global scale.

in his entire career, he has never shown the slightest regard for truth or personal integrity. Personal advancement, yes; personal integrity, no.

thought this man had integrity but he has proven that to be false. Can't understand what makes him tick though, what is his goal in all this? His wife I heard does not want any part of the whole thing and is hardly ever seen in public with him and I heard she told him she would not attend public spectacles with him.

for his whole career. that has been his only MO.

He doesn't know anything else.

I think he may have had pretentions of lifting his race at one point, but that totally got lost in the soul sucking process of playing the insiders game and climbing up the neocon sewer pipe that has replaced the GOP system.

Kudos for his wife for standing up to it. I only recall seeing her on TV once since Bush stole office.
