Fox crawler: Clark gets his hair cut every two weeks.
I am not making this up. This was the factoid on the bottom of the screen during a segment of Neal Cavuto interviewing Bill Kristol a few minutes ago.

Again, I find myself speechless and stunned at the level to which our media has sunk.

8. Hair?
"Now I can cast my vote with a clear conscience that Clark is impeccably coifed!"

Wasn't it DeLay who made a comment about Clark being a "blow-dried Napolean"? This crawler sounds like a knowing, sneering nod to the Limbots who watch Faux regularly.

7. LOL.
WOW -- what a virile man! Twice a month, at his age!

Just think of what he does for the economy at that rate -- $20 a pop, twice a month, * 12 months = $480 added to our national GDP. That's something like 1/10 of a job -- better than Bush has done in three years!

Don't most military men get their hair cut fairly often. My father used to get his hair cut all the time too. If you keep your hair really short, you have to get it cut a lot.

24. That is just embarassing.
A so-called news channel running a crawl (re: important updates!) about how frequently someone cuts their hair. Maybe some independent and moderates who periodically tune in to the faux news station (and according to DUers - family members who are not far right wingnuts often do watch faux) will see silliness like this and when others claim the falacy of faux as a news source - it will begin to resonate.

choked on a pretzel crawler. Think of all the true but ridiculous things about Bush that could be crawling at the bottom of that screen right now. Bush an idiot, film at 11. Wouldn't be too hard to get some tape on that one.

31. Clark pays far less for his haircut than the $75 Kerry pays for his.
Looks like Clark is keeping the same grooming standards he had when he was in uniform. This is quite common among high ranking retired military officers, particularly when they go to work for the private sector, they bring their grooming standards and their work ethic with them. This is good!

Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 05:57 AM by VolcanoJen
I see that the flunkies at Fox have been busy Googling; I imagine they got the earth-shattering news about the frequency of Clark's haircuts from this article, published in yesterday's Jonesboro Sun. :-)

To his barber, Wesley Clark is just a "general Joe"

http://216.239.37.104/search?q=cache:4DkWjy0gPzUJ:www.jonesborosun.com/editorial.asp+wesley+clark+barber&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

Excerpt:

The former NATO commander, widely expected to be the next Democratic presidential candidate, shoots the breeze with doctors, lawyers, politicians and presidential library builders at Sullivan's Barbershop, an icon in Little Rock's upscale Heights neighborhood for nearly 50 years.

"Sometimes he gets to talking to people in here and carrying on, and sometimes he does lots of reading," proprietor Scott Sullivan said. "But he doesn't come in with a holier-than-thou, 'I'm a big shot' attitude. He doesn't put on airs. He's just a general Joe.

"He seems to be a very genuine, honest man, easy to get along with. He's always polite to us here."

When he's home, Clark frequents Sullivan's about twice a month. He still favors the military cut -- combed across the top, keep it short on the sides.

Nothing on Google, so I went to AllTheWeb.

This is Gert Clark, courtesy of http://www.defenselink.mil/news/May2000/n05042000_20005043.html:

BTW: I sport a buzz cut. Clip my own hair every week. And I know that most military guys are impeccable when it comes to grooming. Look at Ollie North and all the noise back in the late 80s about his haircut.

38. Jeez, you'd think he was in the _military_ or something...
You know, I think Fox should continue with this petty squabbling. Bitching about the haircuts of the Democrats have been a good way to start the smear campaign ball rolling.

Ridiculing military men for being military will come back to bite the right in the ass. Military voters don't appreciate their punctuality mocked.
