1. He sure did
I love Edwards. He has a great message. Saw an early morning television ad where he talked about small towns, etc. It's perfect for Oklahoma.

I'm still concerned about the lack of movement in his campaign, but if Clark screws up..I'm jumping back to Edwards.

24. Edwards is a populist, good on him
So far it's Kucinich, Gephardt, and Edwards that can be honestly called populists - I hope Clark comes around soon.

3. agreed.
i've got a real soft spot for the guy. i've been leaning clark/dean, but also like clark/edwards - edwards/clark. this is strictly on a who can beat * basis. my heart's still with sharpton, but...

5. Yes
I've always liked him quite a bit, but have spent more time focusing on Kerry, Clark, and Dean. However, he impressed me so much at the last debates, I've made him my #2 choice. He has a REAL answer for every question he's asked. If he doesn't end up getting the nomination, I hope he's tapped for VP. I'd love to have him serve in either capacity.

And yes, as George Costanza would say, I say this with a staunch record of heterosexuality, Edwards is sexy as hell.

31. I agree
Edwards summons up images of JFK, and I love his speaking style. He is one of those people I like to listen when they talk. I hope he comes through. Right now I am sick of the finger pointing and name calling, lets talk about issues. Not who is more liberal, and who has the most experience with the military. I want to hear about what their vision is for America, how they plan to fix it. Only an idiot needs to have it pointed out things are screwed up now! Don't tell me it is broken, tell me how YOU plan to fix it!

Edwards is the guy. An Edwards vote is a vote with the brain.

22. i won't blindly vote for someone
with a "D" at the end of his/her name. say cheney (god forbid) were to get in the race and call himself a dem, yeah, i'd have to make an exception. can't do absolutes unless we're dealing with universal truth, and i don't see politics as being in that realm (could be wrong though ;)

21. I like him a lot!
He is extraordinary in a smaller setting. He just has charisma and warmth and seems to like people. I'm impressed how he handles interviews. He never seems to stumble and attacks chimp with a smile, that Southern accent, and eloquent words. I'd heard that stump speech, for the most part, before. I was very impressed with Elizabeth Edwards' speech. She mentioned many of his charitible activities and other things about his life. Besides he is sexy.

33. yeah i think that sort of stinks
Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 11:47 AM by bearfartinthewoods
Edwards announcement was scheduled for over a week. Clark has been playing tease for months. he could have been a team player and waited 48 hours or even till next week fer crying our loud. anyone announcing for prez should get at least two newscycles out of it. his jumping in just a day after Edwards is the first negative on him in my book.

i know they are competing but they are still on the same side afterall. bbeating bush is the ultimate and Edwards would have garnered plenty of coverage of his bush bashing for at least today and then Clarlk could have taken the baton next week for the leg of the relay.

25. Aaron Brown's interview was great
Brown asked many complex questions and Edwards responded directly and with complete command of the situation in a relaxed way. Frankly, a great interview from Brown, of whom I'm not a huge fan.

From a purely technical aspect, they covered more ground and went into more depth than any short interview of that sort that I can really remember. There's something very reassuring about this guy and his understanding of and comfort with the issues. He was candid about the possibilities for balancing the budget in the near future, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable segment.

27. Unfortunately I only caught a few minutes
but I think he seems like a good guy from the bits and pieces of his speeches that I have caught. It would be nice if the media would give the guy a break but that's just wishful thinking.

I wont be suprised in the least bit to see him back in '08 even stronger.

30. I still don't think he has a chance...
There's just something about him that says "not ready for prime time". The masses just won't flock to him like we need them to.

I do think, however, that he's got a great message - and that if he doesn't make it, whoever does should steal it. (The one on Bush being "anti-work".)

I do think he'd make a marvelous VP, though, and would contribute to the ticket beyond just "he'd deliver a southern state".
