If you are a Comcast customer, take a good look at your statement |
|
I do not purchase any of those on demand things, so that my statement should be the same each month, and actually less this month, since I was promised refund for three days when the Internet service was down.
Imagine my surprise when I opened the statement and it is $2.00 more.
I do keep previous statements, so I compared the previous one and this one line by line to find...$2.85 for Monthly TV Guide! And, of course, all the additional sales tax and fees that are proportional to the total..
So I called to tell them that my TV Guide comes under my own subscription. And, while there, I asked, where was the Internet refund? Right there, $1.43 for one day. One day?! I was promised three days, even have the ticket numbers.
So she came back with the revised statement - $6.00 less. Barely a dinner for two at Wendy's but still - it is the principle that counts.

3. My elderly mother had digital cable ... |
|
...installed, the day after ----using her new remote and digital cable box she accidently ordered 3 movies over an approximately 2 minute time period (2 of the three were the same movie), she was astonished when she received her bill as she did not believe she had ordered any pay per view movies. The customer service at Comcast told her that she ordered the movies (even the same one twice) so it was not their problem. I will be helping her find an alternate cable company (at least we have that option).

Charging for 3 movies over a 2 minute time?
If that's the case it sounds criminal. More abhorrent is the fact that I probably could have yelled my way out of the charges, but someone who is elderly or timid is more likely to get robbed.
Their service charges are so high, one would think they would not have to resort to petty thievery. But greed has no bounds.

6. I am surprised that you have an option of another cable company |
|
though it seems that they buy each other and pretty soon there will be only three...
Still, I was always under the impression that the municipality - if you live in an incorporated area - grants exclusive rights to one cable company, similar to electricity and gas.
You certainly should complain to the licensing authority in your city and your state. At least, generate data. Perhaps if more will, someone will do something..
