and wouldn't entail assisting the US in issues of national importance like for reconstruction after a natural disaster or something.

I don't know - but the neo-cons changing anything scares me much.

I also notice that the new citizens don't necessarily get to "bear arms" for the state. And that there is no delineation that service would be in the US Military exclusively.
