I've seen this mentioned about a Clark and Hillary conspiracy... |
|
That Hillary is using Clark to make sure that Dean remains unelectable, so that she can run in '08.
Clark is un-nominatable; he might just be there to make whatever guy does get the nomination (let's face it, it'll be Dean or Kerry) looks insignificant.

Many people disagree with you on Clark's ability to get the Democratic nomination, however.

That's just silly. When this news dropped, my entire dept. at work immediately wanted to know more about him and some of them professed support almost immediately although they don't like any of the current Dem candidates. Even my GOPer stepdad was excited, as he's grown to dislike Bush. No, these folks weren't Dem activists or maybe even primary voters but saying this is all a conspiracy to nominate an unelectable servant of the Clintons is silly.

2. I saw a similar thread on Free Republic |
|
I'm not saying this as a bash; I truly did see a theory on FR that Clark was running so he could be Hillary's VP.
No sale for me - I believe Clark is nominatable.

The feeling I have about Clark is that he is in this to win.e's not about to be the fall guy for anybody.
I don't see him picking Hillary for VP in 2004, either. Now maybe 2008, which would set her up nicely for a 2012 race.

9. Hillary can be majority leader and Bill can be, Sec-Gen |

Gore? Any other job he wants. Edwards, Kerry, Graham, even Dennis and Howard can get jobs.

5. If she wanted to run, she would run |
|
Ive also seen threads on FR that said that Hillary would promote Dean or Clark, and then kill him just before the election and run in his place.
Whats your point?

8. Um, no, the conspiracy being pushed by discredited RW shills |
|
like Dick Morris is that Hillary wants Dean to get the nomination so he'll be creamed by Bush, and she'll have the field to herself in 2008. That's garbage. You have every right to your opinion, but you don't do credit to your candidate by claiming unsubstantiated conspiracies are being put in place to deprive him of the nomination. Why don't we let the voters decide.

The same RW people who've been dissing Dean now say Hillary's trying to prevent him from being elected? That's hysterical.

11. However, if Hilary is chair of Clark's NY campaign, just say so. |
|
Bill Clinton said Clark and Hilary were the stars of the Democratic Party. If Hilary is a chair, however honorary, then I say he is their candidate.
I do believe the powers that be fully intend to do whatever they can to get someone in who suits them.
Her office did not give an answer yesterday. That is not something that can remain secret. She should just say yes or no.
We will continue to support Dean financially and every other way.

15. It's no secret the Clintons support Clark's entry |
|
That doesn't make him their puppet. Clark also has plenty of grass-roots support. That's what the Draft Clark campaign was.

13. In putting all the conspiracies together... |
|
I believe that Hillary is supporting Dean, who will nominate Clark as VP. As agreed beforehand between Hillary and Clark, Clark will off Dean after a couple of months, and nominate Hillary as VP, and then Hillary will off Clark after 2 years so she can have 2 and 1/2 terms as President.
