Several different episodes from the beginnings, to Lake Wannasee<sp>, to The Warsaw Ghettos to Aushwitz, Treblinka, to the resistance movement.
Its up to us not to ever let anything like this ever happen again.
I hope that its not happening now.

1. I opposed the Holocaust and all pogroms against minorities, but Israel

and moderate to RW Jews are making the same mistake Christianity did after it became the state religion of the Roman Empire -- the persecuted become the next generation of persecutors and are oftem more cruel than their predecessors.

2. Eye-opening

And yet, there will be quite a few who miss the programs and still do not understand the scope of that event. People will still compare what happened there to other current events using illogical leaps. There are truly barbaric things happening. The real question is, could it happen again, on that scale?

3. My fear is that the neo-cons and fundies will impose a fascist theocracy..

and carry out similar atrocities here in the US. Regular German citizens were tranformed into the tools of monsters. Most of these people would never do such things on their own. But with brainwashing, propaganda and the invocation of fear, they carried out the tasks of their revered leaders. It could happen here. God Forbid!

My fear is that people will trivialize what happened and be unable to see real parallels where they exist.
