Babs Bush gone crazy?
Just found out about this... Two days before the Iraq invasion, Her Majesty Barbara Bush made the following statement in an interview with Diane Sawyer...

"But why should we hear about body bags and deaths and how many, what day it’s going to happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Oh, I mean, it’s not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

Body bags and death are not relevant to Queen Mum Bush? Hello?

This is the woman who raised George W. Bush.

Her statement, aside from being heinous, is also just plain weird. Who the hell refers to their own brain as "beautiful"? Has Babs flipped her wig?

Oh well... Chalk this one up to yet another disturbing glimpse into Bush family values, or rather lack thereof.

1. yup....
my ex boyfriend used to be totally amazed that I really hated Barbara Bush. He thought she was such a nice, grandmotherly type. I kept telling him she wasn't.

I oughtta send him that quote. She's the TRUE evil behind the BFEE.

2. At first, I thought the quote was a hoax, but then I looked it up...
Sure enough, Babs really said it.

I wonder why the statement was not more controversial than it was. I guess the start of the war, two days after she made the statement, eclipsed any controversy about the statement.

4. Not to pry
But does his stance on Barbara Bush (or should I say your stance) have anything to do with him being your Ex?

7. LOL...
No, none at all. Our stances were well-staked out during the relationship. And we've remained friends.

9. Thats good to hear at least
Sometimes politics can be a huge issue. I usually try to avoid republicans. They just aren't as appealing as liberals.

10. heheh...
he wasn't a republican, by any means.

Sort of a Green/Libertarian mix. He was only 22, so I forgive him the confusion :)

3. Christ... can you get any more imperious than that?
The body count is irrelevant... and not worth troubling her "beautiful mind" over? That's absolutely disgusting.

I'll bet the body count was pretty fucking relevant during Vietnam, when her boy was kept safely in Texas. Sick.

Did any of the Bush brothers serve the country in the military?

6. I can't believe she said this! How horrible
I always liked her, I thought, even though I couldn't stand 41. I have to completely agree. Her remarks are unconscionable.

8. juajen...
then you should learn more about her. She's brilliant at carrying the facade of a lovable old lady, but underneath, she's pure meanness.

Richard Nixon is famously quoted as admiring her because, according to him, "there's a woman who knows how to hate."
