What do any of the Dem candidates know about Iraq?... |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-18-03 05:22 AM by jcc
and what it will take to help the situation there? Who knows the most about nation building? Who knows the most about that region and its people? Who is compassionate? Who is rational? Who could have written a book, event for event, about the war before it happened? Who has the best plan ready for 2004, today?
This is a war that someone will inherit, whether they like it or not.
Dean seems to have very little knowledge at all in respect to the region or its people.
Clark, by his statements in the letter that is being circulated, seems to be out of touch with the troops and knows very little about the culture of that region much less the human experience as a whole for Iraqi’s in US occupied Iraq.
I have heard nothing about the other candidates.
I want to hear what you know about any of the candidates. I have yet to find one that impresses me. Links are fine as I am eager to read, but I’ll take non-heated factual lists too.

1. They know a helluva lot more than the current group of thugs. |

All these thugs know is business and power, probably never took a course in Cultural Anthropology in their lives, as shown by the wrath of the "liberated" Iraqis.
Before Bush was pResident, he probably couldn't find Iraq on the map.
Case in point of their ignorance: Iraqis ONLY bow their heads to the ground when praying & our troops are knocking to the ground left and right because they don't KNOW the culture and its religion which is tighly woven into the culture. I am sure these gestures are winning and hearts and minds of man Iraqis <heavy sarcasm>. Guess the thugs didn't know about the Iraqi culture, because if they had a clue, the above would not be happening.
Now the Democratic candidates are much more well-rounded scholastically.
A sample:
Wesley Clark - Graduated lst in his class at West Point and holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He can read, unlike the illiterate we have in the WH.
Howard Dean - Received his B.A. from Yale University in 1971 and his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City in 1978. Has lived/workd overseas and has traveled extensively throughout the world.

3. Thank you Caledesa for bring up Cultural Anthropology! |
|
The have, the *bush administration, has tried to ram the ways of the western world onto this ancient culture. It is either our way or " bombs away " approach by these ignorant neocons.
Don't get me started......

2. Hopefully, they will know enough to send * and his cronies to Hague in |
|
order to try to improve relations with Iraq and the rest of the world. Sending * and company is going to be necessary because nothing else will do in order to prevent violence against Americans worldwide. Keep in mind that the policies of past Presidents has endangered Americans, and most notably, past Republican Presidents.
I vaguely remember a colonel hanging from a rope on TV in the news in the 1980s.
