Canadian gay couple barred from U.S.
From the CBC website: http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/09/18/gay_customs030918

<snip>
Bourassa said he complained to a customs supervisor and was told the couple wouldn't be allowed to enter the U.S. as a family because the country doesn't recognize same-sex marriages.

Bourassa, who works as an advocate for same-same marriage, said the couple made the decision not to fill out separate form because they felt it was an insult to their dignity.

Bourassa and Varnell were heading to Braselton, Ga., to speak at a human rights conference.

Disgusting, eh?

1. Disgusting ? Yes
but unexpected ?? Not in today's society. the idea of genuine equality across the board just sickens these Neo-cons in control. Let's try some roleplaying, a Neo-cons thoughts:
"My wife needs to be at home taking care of the house, fairies/homos need to be beaten for being different, and blacks need to know their place."

Given years of unhindered control, we'd return to the 1950s mentality with an added class discrimination.

4. nope
rules are rules. If you can't adhere to them, stay in Canada. And no publicity either since that was the real point of it all.
