Flaws found in Firefox
Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4532127.stm

Snip: <Firefox has just celebrated its 50 millionth download
The Mozilla Foundation has said it is "working aggressively" to fix two flaws in its open source Firefox browser.

The vulnerabilities, reported on Saturday, were identified as "very critical", but no cases had been reported of them being exploited.

Several security firms identified the flaws which could let websites run malicious code on a person's computer.

Mozilla has responded by changing its update service and says people should temporarily turn off JavaScript code.>

My question is how do I turn off my javascript code and when should I turn it back on??

5. Under tab>permissions>allow javascript,
if that is checked, uncheck it. Go back and make sure you have unchecked it (i.e., go there again and verify that it is unchecked).

14. Firefox is wonderful
I disabled the javascript feature. Firefox is the superior browser, not that you cannot use IE also.

8. To turn off javascript
Tools
options
Web Features
uncheck Enable javascript

you should turn it back on when you need it.

DU needs it turned on for using the spellchecker and smilies and such.

other sites for other reasons.

I keep it turned off most of the time. (Except when at DU)
I also keep cookies turned off, Enable Java disabled, and don't allow sites to load software.
Most sites run fine this way. If not, enable them one at a time until it works.
And don't forget to uncheck them when you leave.

The "Internets" is a dangerous place.
